Concessionary Travel Applications Decision Maker

Description

Legislation gives bus operators a right to apply to the Secretary of State (SoS) for modification to the reimbursement rates set by local authorities for journeys made under the mandatory England-wide travel concession. A contract is required to appoint a Decision Maker(s) to act on behalf of the Secretary of State to determine applications submitted for the financial years 2019/20 and 2020/21. The determination of bus operator appeals is a specialist area of work that requires an unusual skill set including an ability to consider detailed legal and economic information contained in commercially sensitive submissions and to draft clear and concise determinations that minimise the risk of legal challenge.
