## Description

The work will provide an understanding of the road safety implications of decisions relating to skid resistance and related surface characteristics\. This is needed to avoid under- or over-specification of materials and to inform decisions relating to prioritisation of maintenance, response to potential loss of skid resistance from changing weather patterns, and optimisation of surfacings to reduce carbon\.
