Healthwatch in Somerset

Somerset Council has a statutory duty to provide a local Healthwatch to the people living in Somerset. Somerset Council also have a broader leadership role in health and care, promoting wellbeing and tackling health inequalities through their public health function. Healthwatch contributes to the bigger picture by supporting local authorities and their partners to achieve health and care strategic aims and ambitions by bringing people's voices into the heart of commissioning and delivery. Local Healthwatch finds out what people like and could be improved about services and shares these views with those who commission and provide health and care and have the power to make change happen. Healthwatch also helps people find the information they need about services in their area.
