Highway Services is a service within Durham County Council offering a comprehensive One Stop Shop approach to project delivery for clients both internal and external to the authority.\r The service carries out civil engineering works directly on the highway for the County Council for a number of various clients.\r These Works include:\r • Road and footpath repair and reinstatement works\r • New highway construction schemes\r • Construction of footpaths & cycleways\r • Construction of roundabouts on existing highways\r • Alterations, signalling or widening of existing highways\r • Road safety engineering schemes\r • Road markings\r • Road surfacing\r • Vehicle Restraints Systems\r • Public realm regeneration Schemes\r • Construction of car parks\r • Flood alleviation and drainage schemes\r • Bridges and structural works\r • Winter maintenance and snow clearing\r
