Description
UNTAXED VEHICLES The Authority requires vehicles that are untaxed and meet the necessary criteria to be recovered by 'soft lift' under the direction of an officer of the Authority and stored securely and in compliance with The Vehicle Excise Duty (Immobilisation, Removal and Disposal of Vehicles) Regulations 1997. The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) have the ultimate authority for this work and will require the Service Provider to be open to audit by them and the Authority. The Service Provider must comply with the Code of Practice and guidance notes and the Wheel Clamping/Removal Powers Instructions document annexed to this agreement. ABANDONED VEHICLES Vehicles that have been deemed as abandoned also require recovery and secure storage in compliance with the Refuse Disposal (Amenity) Act 1978. The Authority will control the process in regard to abandoned vehicles in line with the relevant regulations.
