Providing targeted improvement support to 'high risk' LAs - those identified as having significant weaknesses with their SEND services in Ofsted/CQC local area inspections, with a view to supporting them to bring about improvement as quickly as possible..

Expected outcome and benefits - more timely and quality services for families supporting better outcomes and long term savings to the public purse; more effective use of funding, including high needs funding; increase in the number of LAs assessed as making sufficient improvement at Ofsted/CQC revisit.
