Work description
Croydon is currently taking forward a partial review of the 2018 Croydon Local Plan (CLP). Preparation and review of the local plan is a statutory obligation. An integral part of plan preparation is making sure there is adequate evidence to justify the CLP's policies to help deliver a 'sound' plan. As the required evidence (such a retail and viability studies) is technical by nature, developing the necessary evidence requires specific expertise i.e. economic analysis which the Council does not have, therefore it must procure these services to meet its statutory obligations.
Following the recent shift in political priorities and changes to the overall strategy, much of the existing evidence is now considered to be out of date. A refresh and re-commissioning of new evidence is required to support the partial review of the CLP prior to public consultation
