Description
Empowering Parents Empowering Communities (EPEC) is an international early help parenting programme delivered by trained Parent Group Leaders (PGLs) who are volunteers supported by Parenting Specialist within Sheffield City Councils Parenting Team. The programme helps parents learn a range of positive parenting skills, better understand children's feelings, value effective parent-child communication and build better, more resilient family relationships. Sheffield City Council were part of the second wave of the NESTA/DCMS funded EPEC Scaling Programme (2017-19). The authority became an EPEC hub in 2018 and since this time along with the current provider have successfully trained a minimum of 12 Parent Group Leaders (PGLs) a year. We currently deliver the following programmes: • Being a Parent • Being a Parent Together • Being a Parent to a child with ASD
