Description
The provision of a citywide Weight Management Service that meets the needs of the Sheffield population. The service will contribute to Food Strategy targets: Reduction in child obesity in the 20% most deprived parts of the city Reduction in adult obesity in the 20% most deprived parts of the city Reduction in tooth decay in children in the 20% most deprived parts of the city Service Aims • To inform parents of very overweight children of their child's NCMP results, provide brief advice and encourage participation in a family weight management programme • To assist children and young people who are above a healthy weight and their families to adopt healthier lifestyles and reach and maintain a healthier BMI • To assist adults who are above a healthy weight to adopt healthier lifestyles and reach and maintain a healthier BMI • To equip front line professionals with the skills and information to enable them to provide brief advice regarding healthy diet and healthy weight using motivational techniques
