Work description
Luton Council's Population Wellbeing directorate, incorporating Housing services is responsible for, and currently manages approximately 7,700 council properties, 900 leasehold dwellings, 1200 temporary accommodation properties and a significant number of other assets, such as garages, as well as all associated tenancies, leases, contracts and maintenance obligations. Our current approach to Housing Management is driven and controlled at service level. This devolved approach has, over a period of time, led to the procurement of multiple systems, bespoke solutions, databases and excel spreadsheets and the current core system. Luton Council manages its own repairs, asset management, planned maintenance, and cyclical and property compliance needs through our in house Buildings and Technical Services team. We carry out 50,000 repairs per year. We have around 640 users of the systems across all the modules including a significant number of users who will also require mobile and remote app access.
