Work description

St Helens Council recognises it has a duty of care to employees and recognises that in order to provide effective services it must ensure that their employees stay healthy and fit for work and that, as far as possible, the work that they do does not affect their health. Its aim is to have a healthy and fit workforce to best meet the needs of our services. The Council therefore provides an occupational health (OH) service to its employees, which it also extends to its Maintained Schools. The current service is in an in-house service, directly employing a full time OH Adviser, a full time OH Administrator and a part time OH Administrator. Clinical triage of cases is undertaken by the OHA. We are seeking to procure a new supplier of OH Physician services. The service is also in a period of resetting OH priorities, now and for the future and support with this process is welcomed. The Council is also undergoing significant organisational change and has an ambitious transformation programme with a key driver for the service in going digital.
