Provision of Support on the Economic Impact of Nuclear Regulation

As part of being a healthy regulator, the Office for Nuclear Regulation requires that up-to-date analysis is conducted from time to time to ensure that our regulatory actions are targeted and proportionate, as well as justifiable. This is particularly true in respect of ensuring that we can respond authoritatively to the industry, public and media should any criticism arise. In addition, the Government's Better Regulation requirements require ONR to provide robust statements outlining the costs and benefits of regulatory change, for this ONR require economic analysis of the impact of our regulatory actions on the regulated community.
