Work description
North Devon District Council provides a kerbside sort collection service for dry recycling to approximately 45,000 households per week. All collected materials are returned to Brynsworthy Environment Centre in Barnstaple, for processing each day.
North Devon Council is ambitious in its plans to continue to expand the service and in order to achieve this, we need to modernise our processing equipment and create capacity within our processes to handle more throughput than ever before. The council is looking for interested business to tender for a turnkey solution to meet our current and future requirements to make us one of the best recycling council's in the country. Not only are we looking for processing equipment but we are also looking for an integrated traffic management plan to complement the new system, delivering the highest level of health and safety with the minimum amount of vehicle movements. Timetable for delivery is subject to a tender process however installation in 2019 would be favourable. We are holding a market engagement day on 10 July 2019 between 10am and 12.00pm.
