ESCC SS - Improving access to dependence forming medication (DFM) review support in East Sussex - AWARD

Adult Social Care and Health East Sussex County Council intends to commission a service Improving access to dependence forming medication (DFM) review support in East Sussex. This service will run for 12 months. This service seeks to support those affected by the use of these medications to seek support to reduce or cease using the medication, as well as referring and supporting to access more specialist support if necessary. It also seeks to support GPs not to initiate or prolong the prescribing DFMs through skill development and increasing confidence and courage to use other interventions to manage pain. Also support the development of strategies to manage aggression from patients displaying drug seeking behaviours.
