Description
Recent legislation mandates that all local authorities in England must provide a weekly, separate food waste collection for all households, including flats and HMOs, by 31 March 2026. These changes are part of the UK Government's "Simpler Recycling" initiative, which aims to increase recycling rates and reduce landfill dependence. Chesterfield Borough Council is now legally required to implement a separate weekly food waste collection service for households by 31 March 2026. The Council must provide each household with a food waste containers: a small 7-litre internal caddy for communal properties, and a larger 23-litre caddy for individual residences. Furthermore, Chesterfield Borough Council is looking for the supply and delivery of Two and Four - Wheeled bins.
