Description

Gloucester Tall Ships Festival began in 2007 and has been held every 2 years since then. The festival runs for three days from the Saturday until Monday taking place on the last bank holiday in May. Gloucester City Council (the Authority) are inviting the successful supplier to decide if they would like to continue with this date or if they would like to move to the first bank holiday, based upon the availability of ships for both of these dates. The festival site location is Gloucester Docks - the site is divided into several sections and each section has a different landowner. These are: Gloucester City Council, The Canal and River Trust and Peel Holdings. The premises licence is held by the Gloucester Docks Estate Company ( GDECL) a group made up of residential and business owners on the site. There are 2 museums on the site and various businesses, bars and restaurants. The successful supplier will manage all aspects of the production of a Gloucester Tall Ships Festival in 2021. Following a review after the 2021 festival, it is anticipated that the appointed supplier will undertake the planning for and provision of up to 3 successive festivals in 2023, 2025 and 2027.
