Work description
Kirklees Council required a suitably experienced contractor to deliver improvements on the A62 Leeds Road in Huddersfield. The further competition was issued via Lot 5 of the YORCivil2 Framework.
The proposed scheme aims to make changes along the length of the corridor from Old Fieldhouse Lane to Huddersfield Ring Road, focusing on online corridor improvements north of Bradley Mills Road, onroad cycle provision, enhanced bus stop improvements, and the inclusion of Green Infrastructure. Junction improvements are proposed at: · A62 / Bradley Mills Road · A62 / St Andrew's Road · A62 / Hillhouse Lane / Thistle Street · A62 / Southgate / Northumberland Street · Removal of the gyratory and replacement with two signalised junctions at A62 / Gasworks Street / · Lower Fitzwilliam Street / Great Northern Retail Park.
