## Description

The Doctor Support Service provides confidential emotional support to doctors who are under a GMC investigation\. Each doctor will be allocated a supporter who is available for telephone based support but also to attend a GMC hearing if required \(up to 2 days\) and a Doctor Meeting if required \(meetings are usually 1 hour\)\. The aim of this service is to ensure that doctors are emotionally supported through our processes\. The Doctor Support Service will also be required to provide a safety net of support for doctors who require emotional support outside of core operational hours
