## Description

The primary aim of the common skate survey is to collect field data on the common skate complex in the Celtic Sea region\. The data collected will assist Defra/Cefas in developing a robust case for more effective regional management of common skate in light of the new Common Fisheries Policy Landing Obligation and anticipated species split for common skate \(formal recognition of the two species making up the common skate complex\)\. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises \(SMEs\)\. However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement\.
