Description
Colchester Borough Council require a suitably experienced main contractor to construct a three storey office building (phase II), with a building size of 1106 m2 (Gross Internal Area). The build will be undertaken utilising a JCT Intermediate Building Contract and in addition to the office build, will be the requirement for an associated plant compound, parking area and landscaping on Sheepen Road, Colchester, which is located next to Phase I on the same site.. The work shall comprise : Substructure: Piled foundations and ring beam. Superstructure: Steel framed building with concrete upper floors and roof structure on steel profile decking, reinforced bitumen membrane roof covering on PIR insulation. Concrete stairs with carpet finish and glass balustrading, brick clad external walls, aluminium/timber composite fixed casement windows and aluminium external doors with low solar gain glazing. Concrete lift shaft, masonry or lightweight metal studwork partitions to core areas with hardwood veneered flush doors, including vision panels where required, in hardwood frames and with brushed stainless steel ironmongery. Suspended ceilings, raised floors with carpet finish generally and air source heat recovery heating system and comfort cooling system. Lighting, power and alarm systems throughout.. Building designed to achieve BREEAM very good. The internal fit out of the offices will be conducted under separate cover by the Council's tenant. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement. The deadline for Expressing your interest is 17:00 Hours on Tuesday 23rd January 2018. Completed tender submissions must be uploaded to the Delta E-sourcing portal by 12:00 (noon) on Tuesday 30th January 2018. Failure to upload all requested documents will result in your tender being disqualified.
