Work description
Thurrock Council's CCTV network was established in 2001 and has grown over the years with a number of upgrades. The current system comprises a combination of both PTZ and fixed cameras over 40 locations within Thurrock. There are two types of connection methods to these cameras, coaxial cable and wireless radio links. Each area has a recording facility in the form of IndigoVision NVRs which are linked back to the main CCTV Control Room via a broadband network which is maintained by Thurrock Council's ICT Department.
There are a mixture of analogue and IP cameras on the system. The analogue cameras are encoded to IP before being recorded by the NVRs.
Each NVR is connected to a fibre modem which is networked back the Thurrock Concierge Control Room based in Tilbury, Essex, for viewing /reviewing in the Control Room. The main Control room based in Tilbury houses the main server and cameras
