Dog Kennelling Services

Wiltshire Council has a statutory duty under Section 149 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to temporarily kennel stray dogs for 7 clear days following service of notice on the identified owner. Thereafter if the owner does not collect the dog, ownership of the animal legally reverts to the provider who may re-home the dog. The owners of dogs which are reclaimed are required to pay for any expenses incurred by the Council.
