Work description
South Lakeland District Council provides recycling collection facilities to communities throughout the district by way of kerbside collections and recycling banks (known as \"Bring Sites\") There are 19 recycling Bring Site locations at strategic sites throughout the district which receive approximately 2,500 tonnes of recyclables between them each year. Many of the sites are on land owned and controlled by third-parties. The Council is inviting tenders for the provision of the recycling containers (bring banks) and maintaining them in a good, clean and safe condition at Bring Sites throughout the district. The Recycling Bring Sites Services contract provides for the collection of paper, card, glass, cans and plastics from the banks, which will then be sold for re-processing. The Contractor shall retain the value of the materials collected and will be required to maximise the quantity and value of recyclables arising from the contract. All expressions of interest, clarification questions and submission must be made The Chest (www.the-chest.org.uk). Submission deadline is 7pm on 20 November 2017.
