Work description
4 contracts have been awarded to build on the work carried out in 2016-17 by the Foundation (http://www.et-foundation.co.uk/supporting/support-practitioners/special-educational-needs-disabilities-send-resources/), and its partners, to support staff working in the Post-16 sector to improve outcomes for learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The aim was to make sure that all learners with a learning difficulty and/or disability are supported in their learning and in the achievement of their aspirations in life, wherever and whatever they are learning. Our work included learners with Education and Health Care (EHC) Plans, as well as those without plans. In 2017-18, our work specifically focused on: - Support for leadership teams and those involved in governance - Support for providers to design tailored study programmes that offer pathways to employment and adult life for young people with SEND - Creation of resources and a programme of activity which supports better careers advice for learners with SEND - An evaluation of the impact of this work. Learner voice was an integral part of all the activity.
