CWF Lot 2A - Penrith Transport Improvements

As a result of new housing developments in Penrith, Cumbria County Council has received Section 106 monies to make transport improvements within the area.\r \r The works are to include the following schemes:\r \r • Portland Place - which includes the removal of one on-street parking space immediately north of the junction and widening Portland Place combined with narrowing of the footway to 2.5m on the eastern side of Portland Place\r • Salkeld/Inglewood Road - 'Stopping-up' of a part of Inglewood Road used as a 'rat run'. The scheme will also involve the build out of kerbs to enable improved pedestrian crossing and traffic movement.\r Currently, Cumbria County Council has received monies for the Portland Place and the Salkeld/ Inglewood Road scheme.
