Description
We are looking for a suitably experienced contractor with expertise in the field of access to justice and legal aid to complete a research project examining the effect of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders (LASPO) Act 2012 on those people who are no longer eligible for legal aid. The project seeks to answer the following research questions: • what are the different routes that individuals take in search of justice? • whether /how do those routes differ for the different issues (to be confirmed)? • whether /how do those routes differ by protected characteristics or for those at higher risk of discrimination, disadvantage, harm or abuse? • what impact does taking these routes to justice have on individuals' lives? The findings of the research will be used by the Commission to inform its contribution to the Ministry of Justice review of the LASPO Act. The Commission welcomes consortium bids where the research needs of the project may not be met to a high standard within one organisation. Where bidders are applying as a consortium, there must be a lead organisation and the proposal must state who this is.
