Work description
The UK's long-term goal in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPTs) is to maintain the viability of a two-state solution (2SS): a sovereign, democratic, and contiguous Palestinian State with strong democratic institutions living in peace and security, with Israel. The Department for International Development (DFID) is the UK government's aid agency. DFID is currently in the process of developing it's new 4/5 years Business Plan. From 2011 to 2015, DFID strategic priorities focused on: building effective and accountable Palestinian state institutions; promoting inclusive economic development and empowerment; and protecting the rights of Palestinians and supporting refugees.
