## Description

As part of BEIS' net zero ambition, in 2021 the Government and Industry agreed on targets to reduce emissions from production of oil and gas \(the North Sea Transition Deal\) by 50% by 2030\. These targets feed into the 6th Carbon Budget\. The majority \(71%\) of emissions are derived from powering oil and gas platforms, the solution to which is electrification of platforms\. To enable electrification, Industry needs to know how various policies and regulations would apply to this new area\. There are two multi-operator 'hub' projects in the North Sea who need regulatory clarity by April 2023, when they are due to make technical and investment decisions\. Expertise is required to input into questions from Industry\.
