Description

As part of the regeneration of Rhyddings Park in Oswaldtwistle (which includes wider heritage improvements), this opportunity comprises path re-surfacing, upgrading and creation of new paths; creation of several new park features including an amphitheatre, regenerated parterre garden, orchard and car parking facilities. Soft landscaping works include rhododendron and selected tree removal, grass and turf areas, creation of wild flower glades and an improvement to the rockery and woodland understorey. Welcoming entrance areas are to be included. Additional information: The landscaping works in the park form part of a larger heritage regeneration scheme which will be running concurrently with this contract. The other works carried out by a separate building contractor are architectural refurbishment works to the old coach house and associated outbuildings within the old walled garden in the north east corner of the park.
