Description

Potential Service Providers MUST demonstrate clear and extensive expertise and experience of working with and delivering courses to eligible 16-29 year olds who are not in employment, education or training (NEET). This programme is designed to motivate, support and prepare Teenage and Young Parents to make a successful transition into education, training or apprenticeships/jobs. Additionally, to provide them with useful tools to enable them to make positive decisions for themselves and their child (children). The course should take place 2 to 3 days per week over a period of 4 to 6 weeks and within school hours. A barrier to young parents accessing training, education and/or employment is the accessibility of nursery/creche provision. Service Providers should therefore either have crèche/nursery facilities on their premises or within easy walking distance of where the training is taking place. The provision of work experience and employment opportunities with family friendly employers would add value to the programme.
