Description
North London Waste Authority (the Authority) is seeking a contractor to carry out works to construct a laydown area to the east of the Edmonton EcoPark. North London Waste Authority is a statutory authority whose principal responsibility is the disposal of waste collected by the seven north London boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest. The Authority predominantly manages its waste arisings through its waste management contract with LondonEnergy Limited (LEL), a private company which is wholly owned by the Authority. LEL operates an existing Energy from Waste facility at the Edmonton EcoPark which is due to be replaced as part of the Authority's North London Heat and Power Project (NLHPP). Under the NLHPP, the Authority will develop a new Energy Recovery Facility at the Edmonton EcoPark pursuant to a Development Consent Order granted to the Authority on 24 February 2017. The construction of a laydown area is part of the preparatory works for the NLHPP. The laydown area is to be constructed on an area of open scrubland located to the east of the Edmonton EcoPark. The laydown area will be used to provide construction parking and associated access and utilities. This procurement is for the east side of the laydown area and further details of the required works are set out in the Memorandum of Information, forming part of the procurement documents.
