Sheffield City Region: Provision of Consultant to Assess Railway Reopenings in the Barnsley and Sheffield Area

Sheffield City Region, in conjunction with Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council and Sheffield City Council, intends to commission a study into the feasibility of re-opening several disused or under-utilised rail lines for passenger use. This is an initial high-level study, looking at whether there is a Strategic Case for such re-openings and to inform future rail policy and priorities.
