Work description
The contract covers Dorset Council's statutory duty to deliver the mandatory Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs), Minor works and SIPS service which are now required to be tendered under procurement regulations. The service will support all Adults and Children's Services to deliver adaptations to promote independence or support a carer to manage the activities of daily living, for individuals to maintain their health and wellbeing in the community.
For Sensory Impairment services this is aimed primarily at young adults from age 18 upwards. It offers registration services for visual impairment, Rehabilitation Officer for Visual Impairment (ROVI), services for mobility and cane training as well as equipment and assessment, and support for hearing loss individuals and those with profound hearing loss whose main communication is sign language.
