Connect the Classroom - Ashfield School - AWARD

Ashfield School is eligible for the DFE Connect the Classroom scheme. The DfE Connect the Classroom programme aims to provide the school with a comprehensive wireless networking solution that covers wireless access points. Ashfield School currently has predominantly HP Core and Edge switching running a minimum of a 10GB link to each cabinet. The current Wifi provision is supplied by TP Link. Coverage is generally adequate although some areas are weak. Speed is generally ok although some areas in DT and Art are very slow. Each cabinet currently has provision for POE. Cabling is currently cat5e and Cat6. The Main objective of this project is to provide good wireless coverage and speed to allow wireless technologies to be used effectively to enhance teaching and learning for students.
