Thermal Analysis Upgrade

Description

The Chemistry Department has a suite of thermal analysis equipment which is run as a service for both departmental and external users. Services include Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA) and Thermal Gravimetric Analysis with Mass Spectroscopy (TGA-MS) In order to meet the increasingly diverse needs of Chemistry and related departments, we wish to purchase both a Simultaneous Thermal Analyser (STA) which combines DSC and TGA and can run to high temperatures, and a TGA/FTIR/GC-MS system to provide chemical 'fingerprinting' of volatiles and breakdown products.
