NHS Digital Data Sharing Audit

The Data Sharing Audit (DSA) team at NHS Digital carries out independent audits and where necessary post audit reviews to check that our customers are meeting the obligations in their Data Sharing Framework Contracts (DSFC) and Data Sharing Agreements This helps to ensure that organisations abide by the terms and conditions set by NHS Digital and data is kept safe and secure. Under the Health and Social Care Act 2012, the Health and Social Care Information Centre (also known as NHS Digital) has a legal duty to maintain the confidentiality, safety, security and integrity of all personal and patient data it holds and disseminates. NHS Digital provides confidential information to a wide variety of organisations to support specific purposes. Each data dissemination is subject to a data sharing framework contract and data sharing agreement. The purpose of a data sharing audit is to ensure that the data recipient is meeting the requirements of the data sharing framework contract and data sharing agreement, along with other relevant standards and guidelines.
