Work description
Kent County Council on behalf of Medway Council requires a supplier to undertake investigation works to assess the ground contamination for the proposed redevelopment site of Temple Marsh Closed Landfill, Rochester, ME2 2ZL. The Authority requires a detailed investigation of the environmental quality of the site to be conducted to ensure the health and safety of the public.\r Temple Marsh was a historical landfill in the 1960s and 70s which accepted industrial and commercial waste. \r \r The site is due to undergo redevelopment however it is expected contaminants associated with the historical land use will have impacted the groundwater quality and require consideration in any assessment of the Site's impact on the surrounding environment. The purpose of the Ground Investigation (GI) is to assess the Site's contamination status including soil contamination, the ground gas and vapour regime, and risk to controlled waters.\r \r The supplier will be required to work with the authority to conduct the site investigation works through exploratory boreholes and hand pits across the Temple Marsh site to gather this data. Site works are expected to commence on the 12th July 2024.\r Please refer to the Tender Documentation on the Kent Business Portal for further information.\r
