The IG team need access to Practical Law Online (public sector area) and Westlaw. Westlaw is good at ensuring the team will have complete access to up to date legislation, official transcripts, case law, law journals, law reviews and legal articles. Practical Law is an excellent online source for all law firms, especially small in-house teams as it provides the team access to practice notes on existing and draft legislation, standard documents and clauses, checklists, legal updates and how to guides. Both platforms work together to provide theoretical and practical aids. Westlaw is primarily useful for legal insight, and Practical Law is useful for practical notes, forms and precedent documents. The addition of Westlaw would allow accurate and up to date legal research and improve efficiency within the Legal team. It would also facilitate training (included) through their training platforms.
