Description

Colchester Borough Homes requires a suitably experienced contractor to complete various building maintenance and repair works to the Natural History Museum (formerly church of All Saints), which is a Grade II Listed Building of Historical Importance with a late C12 nave, C14 chancel, and C16 west tower with knapped flint work. Holy Trinity Church is a Grade I Listed Building of Historical Importance. The tower was built on to an earlier church of circa 1000, of which only the west wall remains. The rest of the building is largely C14 and C15. Both of these sites are within a conservation areas, and the buildings are both listed for their historical importance, therefore, the contractor will be required to exercise all due care at all times. The sites are both located close to a busy Town Centre, and is surrounding by buildings of mixed use. The Building Maintenance and repair work comprises: (1) Roof Repairs, (2) Stonework Repairs, (3) Timber repairs, (4) Redecoration & (5)Paving repairs (plus other associated works) Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement. Expressions of Interest must be received by 17:00 hrs on 14th Marc h2016. Returned tenders must be submitted in hard and electronic copies s per the instructions.
