The Space domain is both rapidly evolving and moving to the forefront of military operations. As outlined in the Defence Space Strategy, it is critical that Defence have a current evidence base through which to formulate agile and relevant decision-making with regards to development of Space capability.

It is also intended to allow contributing stakeholders from across government to derive benefit as well, and encourage closer, more collaborative working, both across Government and with other stakeholder groups such as Industry and Academia. It will also provide direction to innovation at a granular level, as well as informing general areas of opportunity for cross-cutting both within the Space capability areas, and with other domains.

This will address the current lack of high-level, evidenced assessment and evaluation within the Space domain to compliment and inform direction of travel for future capability development and innovation.
