Contract for Provision of Special Educational Needs (SEN) Mediation and Dispute Resolution Service

Description

The Children and Families Act (2014) introduced duties on Local Authorities to make available SEN mediation in prescribed circumstances in matters relating to the statutory process of Education Health and Care (EHC) Needs Assessment and EHC Plans. The Act also retained the existing duty to provide SEN Disagreement Resolution Services. Statutory guidance on these duties are set out in the Special Education Needs & Disability Code of Practice (2015). This service offers mediation and dispute resolution services as required by young people and families.
