GB-Shrewsbury: DONV 020 - Walker Theatre PA System

This tender is for the supply, install and commission replacement portable PA sound system for 250 capacity studio theatre.

•The proposed solution should deliver a consistent frequency response & sound pressure level (SPL) throughout the auditorium. This should be achieved alongside providing ample headroom for a variety of reinforcement applications. A broadband A-weighted peak-SPL measurement of 107 dBA must be achieved at the mixing console position.

•The proposed must be of a reputable brand (D&B, Meyer, L'Acoustic, etc) or equivalent

•The proposed must be considered usable by incoming clientele, as to reduce expenditure sub-hiring additional equipment.

•The proposed must be line source - not point source.

•The proposed must utilise 3-way dipolar, passive loudspeakers.

•Ideally the system will be compatible with the current installed sound system for futureproofing and for remote configuration purposes.

•Speaker stacks will ideally be on wheels to reduce lifting and handling (building speaker stacks).

•Speaker stacks must be under 2mtrs in height to fit under doorways when removing from theatre space, including castors and/or dollies.

•Amplifiers must be touring grade with XLR and Speakon connectors. NOT install amplifiers with terminal connectors (Euroblock etc).

•Amp rack must also include a Yamaha RIO3224-D2 to integrate with current system.

Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
